Internet Provider in Japan

What internet provider does everyone use?

Is YahooBB any good, or is it slow?

We are trying to start the process of getting internet but so far, just have internet via our mobile phones (and yay for tethering applications!).

I am going to see if I can get permission for Hikari, but if we cannot get it, DSL I think is our only other option.

When I got here, I asked the same thing. Good thing there is http://www.bbapply.com/ . My experience with this guy was great. He told me the available services in my area within a very short time frame. I applied for service within 24 hours of inquiring with bbapply. I'm not sure about other, but this was way easier than applying directly with the company, fucking things up because I didn't catch something in Japanese, and having to wait months for service. IF all else fails, ask ur sup.

It seems like they always take a varied amount of time to set up the line between companies. Some seem to take forever! I don't know why...

Chris, thanks for the tip. We also sent an email to BBApply and it seems like this is going to be the easiest way.
