JET orientation Bonanza!!!!

So yeah, I got August 1,2, and 3 off! I will be in Tokyo for all those days.

What do you incoming JETs want to do, and when?

We're supposed to arrive at Narita airport between approx. 3:30 - 4:30pm, depending which flight, and not sure what time we get into Tokyo.

Are we usually free all evenings during orientation?

Yes you are. You may be surprised at how much freedom you guys will get. As long as you don't miss the mandatory meetings and you should be fine. I will be in Sendagi (near Nishi Nippori) I say we do something on monday night? If you guys are up for it, I'm down for kicking it on Sunday evening, as well....but I'm pretty sure you will want to kick it with your new friends you meet at orientation.

If I'm not delirious from the trip I'll be down to hang out on Sunday! Where is Sendagi in relationship to the hotel?

Yeah, I'm down for Sunday night if I'm not feeling all f*d up from the flight. Last time I flew to Tokyo, I felt pretty groggy and miserable, but I am going to try to sleep as much as I can on the plane to avoid it this time around. Monday night for sure if there's nothing going on.

Awesome, Chris, you're pretty close by. According to Google Maps Sendagi station is about a 35 minute ride by train...

You know me, I'm down for anything. It would be nice to see that damn ramen museum everyone says I should go see, but I'm pretty sure it's best to stay in the area haha. I'll try and see who else would be in the area too and see if they could come and hang out. Ces and Nicole should still be around(?) and I'd like to see Haruna again ^_^ Oh, and congratulate Jamie in person!!

I will definitely be seeing you all. There is no way I will miss out on this opportunity, since it's been almost a year. My only (small) issue is that I will be living at Takuma's from August 1-7, and he lives on the very western edge of Tokyo. If we can only meet at night, I may have to go home early if we decide to hang out somewhere very far away. But you guys probably don't have much flexibility for where you can go, so if I have to, I will sleep at an internet cafe or something. But I really want to see you guys and I will 100% make it happen.

Oh yeah, I will also call out Big Boss Sachiko and her bf Nash. She has Tuesday and Wednesday off, but even if its not on those days, she should be down for kicking it late at night.

I actually had a chat with her on MSN a couple of days ago. I let her know about our schedule and I think she said she might be able to hang out the day we arrive. I did warn her about the jet lag, but hopefully the excitement will get rid of that.

Gemma and Koji are currently scheduled for Japan Airlines flight JL 001 which departs SFO 1:40 pm and arrives at NRT 4:35 pm. I'm currently also on JL 001 since the travel agency made a mistake and did not include me and Nick on their "Jet Participant Spouse List". Nick is scheduled for All Nippon Airways flight NH 007 which departs SFO 12:10 pm and arrives at NRT 3:10 pm.
